About Katie

Katie's Flower Shop is the result of months of praying & dreaming.  After many unforeseen life events including endometrial cancer resulting in infertility, job changes, a move & now the process of adoption, I was left wondering & dreaming of what to do next.  How to move on after so many changes & still pray big prayers & dream big dreams.  

Throughout my season of cancer in 2017, the Lord used art in amazing ways in my life.  It was one of the only outlets that completely shut off my brain for at least an hour.  Drawing, painting, even just pulling out a coloring book created the rest my very stressed out & worried brain needed.  I have a sketch book from that year that I treasure because, although the fear & unknowns of cancer can feel so dark, that sketchbook is full of bright colors & very happy floral pieces.  

So when the cancer was removed in August of 2017 & I thought toward what would be next, the phrases that always came to mind were...pretty, creative & purpose.  

... & that is how Katie's Flower Shop began.  It begins with one of my favorite pieces to paint & gives the customer the ownership of customizing it. Each piece will be prayed over.  It will be original. It will hopefully be a blessing in your life as creating it will be a blessing in mine.
